Deduza

How to play

Every day, two new cases β€” the same for everyone. None needs guessing: everything follows from deduction.

🌌 Constellation

Find the stars and discover the constellation of the day.

4 stars: one per row, column and color

1. The goal

Place stars in the sky: one in every row, one in every column and one in every nebula (each colored region).

apart

2. Stars don't touch

Two stars are never next to each other β€” not even diagonally. If that happens, the cells turn red-striped.

telescope 2: two stars around

3. Telescopes count stars

The number on a telescope tells how many stars are in the 8 cells around it. The telescope itself never holds a star.

πŸ¦‰ Tip: start with the smallest nebula. After placing a star, dot everything around it, its row, its column and its nebula.

4. How to mark

Tap once to mark β€œnot here” (a dot), twice for a star and three times to clear. Drag your finger to dot several cells at once.

5. Now you try

A small 5Γ—5 sky to practice. Look at the corner telescope: it already tells you a lot.

🏒 Lights

Light the right windows and meet the building of the day.

2 lit and 2 dark in every row and column

1. The goal

Every window is either lit (yellow) or dark (blinds). Every floor (row) and every column has half lit and half dark.

two at most

2. Never three in a row

Three lit windows in a row, or three dark ones, isn’t allowed β€” the building manager complains. Horizontally and vertically.

3. The = and β‰  clues

= between two windows: they match. β‰ : one lit and the other dark.

πŸ¦‰ Tip: two lit side by side? The windows at both ends are dark. Lit, gap, lit? The gap is dark.

4. How to mark

Tap once to light, twice to darken and three times to clear. Windows with a thick frame come pre-filled.

5. Now you try

A small 4Γ—4 building to practice. Every floor and column: 2 lit and 2 dark.

The week

The week starts easy and ends with the Saturday challenge. Sunday is themed.

Hints and Zuza

Zuza, our detective owl, gives up to 3 hints per puzzle: first she points where to look, then she shows the cell and names the technique.

Share without spoilers

Your result shows your time, your stumbles per row and Zuza's verdict β€” never the answer.
